I know there are plenty of ferries to helsinki, but are there any recommendations as to quickest / best way to do this route on a Sunday?
Thanks

It depends do you come by car or not... By car I prefer Tallinki Star... It comes fast but still it is big ferry...
Same time lot of friends have suggested Viking Line... There is not so early needed be in harbour for check in but for me these timing usually don%26#39;t fit - too early or two late :)

Lindaline%26#39;s ship is little faster than Tallinki%26#39;s one: Tallink takes 2 hours, Lindaline 1 hour 30 minutes.

My favorite is Viking Line (last year the deal was about 600 eek return) because they leave early in the morning from Tallinn and return after 9pm, and two meals are included. www.vikingline.ee

I also like Viking Line

I travel this route a dozen times a year and I usually take Linda Line. It%26#39;s the cheapest service and nothing gets you there faster. The downside is that the small craft are prone to disruption in bad weather, so don%26#39;t book far in advance. A 3-day forecast will give you a clearer picture.

JohntheFinn, can you say, how often (precents?) the Linda Line actually cancel the trip because of bad weather? How about August, is then usually bad weather?

It%26#39;s quite rare. My feeling is once or twice per summer, but I%26#39;ve kept no records. It sometimes lasts a couple of days though.

does Direct Ferries
http://www.directferries.co.uk/
include all ferries to Helsinki from Tallinn?
Because I can%26#39;t seem to fin any in the morning before 11am and this seems odd to me.

I only found Tallink-Silja on that site. There are several sailings before that hour.

We used Lindaline last year in September for a day trip to Helsinki from Tallinn and found them to be very good although it was a bit bumpy on the way back!
Check out their website, they do some very good pre-bookable day trip deals.
