Transfers from the Airport & Helsinki day trips

Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows the best/cheapest way to get to a hotel in the city centre from the airport. I%26#39;ve heard there are taxis but as a traveller you are easily ripped off, are there any shuttles or anything like that? Also does anyone know how much it costs for a day trip from Tallinn to Helsinki and how easy it is to do this?

Thanks

Hi

You can catch the number 2 bus from the airport to the centre of the city. I can%26#39;t remember how much it costs but you will have change from £1.

Buy a ticket from the newspaper kiosk just inside the airport. We usually buy a three day ticket for about a fiver, this covers us for all bus, tram and trolley bus journeys around Tallinn.

For instuctions on how to get to your hotel from the bus stop we%26#39;ll need the name of the hotel.

If you check out the Tallink site you should be able to find out times and prices for day trips to Helsinki.

A day trip to Helsinki is very easy and inexpensive. Linda Line is cheap and the fastest, Eckerö Line is even cheaper but sucks, Tallink and Viking are about equal.

Prices vary as the competition is intense and there are frequent special offers. Sometimes packages with a hotel included are little more than the two-way fare.

If the weather is windy, don%26#39;t take Linda Line unless you are impervious to seasickness.
