Hi
Just returned from a great four day break in Tallinn, with overnight stays in Helsinki at each end of the trip.
We bought our Tallink tickets on the day from the Tallink Office in Helsinki. No problems with arranging the tickets or the ferry crossings, which took only two hours each way.
The Old Town was beautiful, with a different Spire,Tower or Church around every corner. The modern buildings were also quite spectacular when illuminated in the evening. We stayed at the Metropol Hotel (review to follow) in the Rottermans district so got to see the developing new buildings while only being a few minutes walk from the Old Town.
On the fourth day I took a bus trip to Narva, on the Russian border. The three hour journey gave an opportunity to see part of the Lahemaa Park as well as an insight into a different part of Estonia. The contrast between Tallinn and Narva is something I%26#39;ll remember for a long time.
Anybody about to visit Tallinn, have a wonderful time - it%26#39;s stunning.

Hi,
I was thinking to combine a short break and visit Helsinqui and Tallin.
In your opinion, and in order to see both cities with no rush, how many days should i spend on my journey?
Regards,
MC

I agree - both are fascinating Cities and I spent three days in Tallinn which gave me plenty of time to see the Old Town, the Rotermann Quarter, Kadriorg Park and the entire length of Tram 2 route trying to find the bus station! I%26#39;d already planned to spend the fourth day visiting Narva.
When I planned my combined trip I flew in and out of Helsinki and caught the ferry across to Tallinn. Both ferry trips only took two hours and I can honestly say I had no problems whatsoever with arranging the trip.
