We%26#39;re planning on being in Tallinn around end Oct/early Nov for a short weekend trip. It will be our first time in this city.
Any suggestion on a small cosy hotel in Tallinn%26#39;s Old Town (no international chain hotels please).
Many thanks

One place to consider to stay is Romeo family hotel http://www.romeofamily.ee/about.htm
I stayed there for 4 nights in the spring 2006 and I thougt it was value for money. But I would not stayed there at summertime because it%26#39;s location is in the most famous party street, so I guess it coukd be quite noisy in the summer. But it was quiet when I stayed there in March. And it%26#39;s location is very central in the Old Town.
Another place to consider is the White Villa.

It%26#39;s about 3 km from the Old Town,so you need to take a trolley-bus to get to the Old Town, but a very nice and quiet place and neigbourhood. In my opininon Valge Villa have little more quality than Romeo familyhotel, but on the other side Romeo family hotel have a central location. So it depeends what you prefer and what is most important for you.

Do you have a budget?

the budget is around eur 100 per night. we%26#39;re not particular about breakfast and other facilities as long as we have the bathroom/toilet in the room. since its a short visit, we%26#39;d like to be in the old town vicinity.
we%26#39;re checking out Romeo Family Apartment ... much thanks for the link!

IF you are interested in self-catering apts too, then check out www.ites.ee. I used to stay here a lot myself as they are great value for really lovely apartments slap in the centre of Old Town, close to Town Hall Square, near Niguliste church. They have great deals now, studios or 1 bedroom apts are about 70 - 100 euro for 2 to 3 nights. The lady that runs the business is really nice and it%26#39;s a trustworthy and professional operation.
