I will be visiting Tallinn next month.
Can anyone give comments on the Admiral Restaurant

Admiral is a lovely restaurant. But if they are what you are looking for depends on your expectations. They are located in the port. The ship is like a ship :) altough the interior carries a slightly romantic touch with the white tablecloths etc. The food has been good when I have visited them and the personnel very friendly, helpful and polite. They have a good view to the Old Town and are well exposed to the sun (a rarity here). But as they are slightly away from where people usually pass by they tend to be either fully booked or have visitors who have come because they have wanted to come specially to Admiral.

Hi
Thanks for that information.
Unfortunately I am having difficulty with a reservation. We will be about 30 from 15 different countries and the Admiral want me to select a menu a week in advance rather that using the A la Carte.
Do you know anything about the Baieri Kelder.
We need a varied menu at realistic prices. Both the Admiral and the Baieri Kelder would appear to fit that but lots of the restaurants are charging Dublin prices which is the most expensive city in Europe to eat in
Regards
Ken

The plusses of Admiral would then (in my eyes) be the little excitement on being onboard of a ship - and if there would be 30 people in your group the whole ship will most likely be just yours. Admiral puts quite a lot of attention to detail and that is why it does not surprise me that they wish to have a menu beforehand to be sure they can offer everything in time and nicely prepared and served.
The plus of Baieri kelder will be that they may be more at ease with the menu (as their style is more of a %26quot;tavern%26quot;) and also that if you wish to walk to your hotel or continue the night in town, you will be situated right on the city center. Then again, Admiral is not far from the city either.
So - the styles of the two are slightly different and you are in much better position than I to know which of the two would better match with the expected atmosphere of the event.
