Estonia ground travel

I%26#39;ll be spending a few weeks in Lith/Latvia/Estonia this coming winter and I%26#39;m trying to figure out the transportation thing. I can%26#39;t really afford to fly or rent a car between cities, and I%26#39;ve heard the trains aren%26#39;t that great in the Baltics. My plan is to go from Riga to Tartu and on to Tallinn. While in Tartu, I%26#39;d like to see Rouge, Kolkja and Poltsamaa (any advice on which ones to see if I have to narrow it down?) and I%26#39;m wondering the best way to get to and from these towns from Tartu. Any advice on costs and travel times between cities would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks yall.

Hey!

Use Eurolines or Ecolines buses to travel between different countries (Vilnius-Riga-Tartu). www.eurolines.com , www.ecolines.net

Between Tartu and Tallinn and other places in Estonia use normal Estonian bus lines, you can find all schedules, travel times at:

www.bussireisid.ee/index.html?MENU=%26KEEL=en

In winter the best option among Rõuge, Kolkja and Põltsamaa would be Rõuge as South Estonia is a place to be in winter - ski resorts, more snow. Kolkja and Põltsamaa are nice in summer time, Rõuge is very beautiful in summer too of course. But it depents on what is your aim? As all those 3 places are for visitors with different interests really.
