Two adults and two teens, will be in port in Talinn one day in August, considering whether to just walk around Talinn %26amp; see what there is to see, or sign up for one of the following excursions. Any advice appreciated!
1. Bog Hike in Lahemaa National Park/ Visit Kasmu Village and Maritime Museum
2. Life in Soviet Estonia...visit Seaplane Harbor %26amp; Museum of Occupation,
3. Talinn by Bike and Walking Tour: bike from Rocca al Mare, travel through Estonian Open Air Museum, and Kakumae Peninsula. Walking tour of Talinn.

Hi,
1. Lahemaa is very beutiful, this is a good trip, but you will spend in the bus 1,5 hour to Lahemaa and 1.5 h back. If you like countruside, nature, many beutiful wiews, you can choose that.
2. Soviet history is a sad part of EStonian history, if you are intrested about history and politics, you can choose that one.
3. Tallinn`s old town (and its really old and colorful) and Rocca al Mare are so intresting places, that i could recommend that excursion . If you have a good guide, you will have very wonderful day!

Hi. Agreeing with everything in the previous comment.
1. Beautiful and quite uniqe nature - bogwalk (you may google %26quot;rabamatk lahemaa%26quot; to find some pictures of what you may see - and a visit to a small lovely %26quot;captains village%26quot; Käsmu - famous for the once high number of captains and shipowners originating from this village.
2. History. In seaplane harbour you may be able to board a small submarine http://www.meremuuseum.ee/?op=body%26amp;id=42 Museum of occupation is about our recent not so happy history.
3. Open Air museum will show you how people lived in countryside when electricity (for example) was not yet helping in everydaylife. Old-town tour will take you back a couple of centuries in %26quot;city life%26quot;. But as Old town is in active use also today you will see modern Tallinn too.

Thus a difficult choice.

Obviously I don%26#39;t know as much as the previous posters but we too were 2 adults and 2 teens off of a cruise ship (Jewel of the Seas) - last August. We took the wandering around the town option and were glad we did - fab!
