Kompressor?

We will be in Tallinn for one day on a cruise and have that this is a good place to eat with kids.

I have two questions:

Where exactly is it located?

They probably don%26#39;t take credit cards so how much would one budget for lunch for 4 so we can take out money from the atm.

Thank you,

Eileen

Dear Tom,

I would not recommend compressor this is not a friendly place. very nice pancakes there. but this is a young student place cheap where students drink beer.

Anyway this is located rataskaevu road. location from old town sq. stand in old town sq and face town hall. to the right of the town hall is a street called dunkri street. pass the merchants house hotel and ice bar on your right and at the top of the road is a well. turn right this is raaskaevu road conpressor is 20metres on the left.

What do you want to eat? maybe I can recommend somewhere for you?

HS dont you think the beer house (opposite the merchant hotel/ice bar) could be an interesting place for these guys to eat at... as its oldie worldie...waiting staff are in costume..

Eileen check out

and if its during the day, should be ok??

I thought it was great.. food - HUGE HUGE portions... we order a meal each (4 of us) and could have just done with 2....service was good also.

My friend and hubby really enjoyed those crispy pigs ears!!! They both ordered ribs.. each had 4 racks each- neither managed it.. i had a hock and goodness me it was so big!..

I think the children would enjoy... at any age

Thank-you for your suggestions. My 9 year old son is our very fussy eater so I thought Kompressor would have been a good choice since he will eat pancakes but if it%26#39;s filled with cheap beer and students that it wouldn%26#39;t be a good choice.

This restaurant would be for lunch and we would prefer something in Old Town since that is where we will be. My husband would prefer it take credit cards. I have also read that Pizza Americana is a also good lunch choice which is something I know that he would eat. He%26#39;s a McDonald%26#39;s kind of kid but the rest of us aren%26#39;t. A nice cafe with sandwiches is also a good choice for us.

Someone my husband knows was in Tallinn and he mentioned Black Sheep and Bakuu. The food is definately something we%26#39;d like. Do they serve lunch?

Thank you,

Eileen

Hi Leenie! Kompressor is ok, but as Old town has quite a number of pubs, pizza places etc., you can probably find someplace tempting also on your way to Kompressor. Beer house, when I last was there, had also pizzas, and is very close to Kompresor. Vene street has quite a number of places, altough slightly more of %26quot;restaurant%26quot; type. You may also find a cafe you like, as a lot of them serve also soups and salads in addition to bakery (also sometimes small pizzas).

|||

Just to add. Most places in Tallinn take cards. But should you need cash, ask just the closest local looking person about the closest ATM. There is quite a number of them in Old town. The same applies to should you need to change currency. Have good trip and a good day in Tallinn!

kompressor is fine for kids...theres not drunk college kids there. last time i was there and some brits were getting loud, the waitress came over and told them to quiet down. its not a family restaurant, but its mellow. you can bring kids there...as long as theyre not cryin and being loud :)

I disagree I dont think this is a children restaurant/cafe/bar (as a father) i would not take my child there. I go there for a drink once or twice a week.

I was there last night:

The toilets are very bad, open fuse wire next to sink, burnt out light above sink, dirty plastic bag in sink, toilets where horrible. basket for paper towels full and also over floor.

Staff and food is great for the price you pay.

Its a students bar, but nice people there yes. but its not a clean place....

Yes it does fantastic pancakes.

But if you want you children to be comfortable then go to TG Fridays or many other restaurants cafe in old town tallinn
