We have approximately 8 days to make a side trip from St. Petersburg. (2 adults, approx. mid- July) We are thinking of the following itinerary with 2 nights in each location:
St. Petersburg to Helsinki by train. Helsinki to Tallinn by ferry. Tallinn to Riga by bus (?). Ferry from Riga to Stockholm. Return to St. Petersburg via ferry to Helsinki, then train.
We realize this is ambitious but we are adventurous travelers and like to see as much as possible. Perhaps we would be better off St. Pete – Tallinn – Riga- Stockholm, Helsinki – St. Pete (?)
Any suggestions/ tips would greatly be appreciated. I will post our experience when we return.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Newport,
Both suggested routes r fine. Which hotel did u decide on while in Tallinn?
If you can arrange to be in Tallinn during 2 - 6th of July its beer festival here in Tallinn.
Always good fun to be at.
