souvenir shopping

hi friends we are from India and will be reaching Estonia after visiting Helsinki and Stockholm . Given the escalating cost of the Euro , we will be on a tight budget at the last leg of our holiday . staying at hotel Viru at 4 Valjack . What are the most reasonable places to buy groceries and small souvenirs for folks back home . thanks and regards from Anuj Delhi India

Welcome.

Viru hotel has an ideal location, and its a very fine hotel also. Near Viru hotel is big Viru Scopping centre. You can see procies there and then walk along to old town (3 min) to Viru Gate.. there a many souvenirs. Also many shops in oldtown. Typical souveniers are made of wooden -butterknifes, spoons, keyholders. They smell nice also... Or you may buy little dollies in estonian national costumes. The most expensive place is Raekoja (Rathous) place in oldtown.

Foodmarkets are in Viru shopping center, in Kaubamaja part in basment (its not the cheapest) , oldtown has big Kaubahall, and near Viru 800m) is Tallins Harbor, there is a big foodmarkt-maybe its cheaper than oldtown places..

Real market is 3-4 stops from Viru Hotel by tram 2 or 4, thats very cheap but not the niciest place..
