Art Museum in Estonia

I am trying to find out about what I think was an art museum near the coast in Estonia, which I saw on Eruopean tv a couple of years ago. The latest guidebook I can get here is from 2006 and does not seem to describe anything like what I saw. I think the museum I saw was new and possibly privately-run. I remember seeing sculptures outside. I know it was Estonia, because it was the first time I had seen any pictures of the country so I was interested. I don%26#39;t think the museum was in Tallinn. Can anyone help?

could it have been Viinistu Kunstimuuseum? This is near Tallinn (about 35 km) and situated by the sea, privat owned by Jaan Manitski

You may be thinking of the Kunsti Museum - Museum for Mocern Art, which is on the outskirts of Tallinn. It opened in late 2005 or early 2006 so may have been on TV at around that time.

Their website is here http://www.ekm.ee/eng/kumu.php.

When we visited the weather was awful so we didn%26#39;t spend much time outside, so I don%26#39;t recall whether there was much sculpture.

I think the private one in the previous post was the one I meant. However I can highly recommend the one you went to on the outskirts of Tallinn. The design of the building alone made it worth viewing. In the same complex there is also the Kadriorg Palace with its collection as well as another smaller one. It was the last stop on the number 3 tram line, which was how we got there. The bus 1A, which starts at the bus station, also goes there. The grounds were beautiful and on Friday you can see loads of couples having their wedding photos taken.
