"Non-touristy" bars / clubs in Tallinn...

Hi,

I%26#39;m visiting Tallinn in a few weeks, and I enjoy experiencing local nightlife.

Can you guys recommend some good places for a 30 year old single Yank to go? I like places that are not just tourist traps, and are frequented by locals.

I appreciate any help.

There are mostly locals in the following places:

Club Parlament- local pop bands, but young crowd (early 20ies), mainstream music in big hall, hiphop and rnb in small hall.

Club von Überblingen- big newish club built into old factory in trendy style, outside of the old town and a little outside of the centre, mainstream music.

Kolumbus Krisostomus- bar/pub/dance with local bands (not club/pop music), very unique local style place.

Karja Kelder- good pub, good cheap food, local bands (again traditional music, not club/pop) at the weekend.

Hi

try Beerhause.. its near Ratplatz, nice place and selfmade gooood beer.

Estonians dont go so much in oldtown pubs, its excpencive , more for tourists.

You could try also 2 pubs in Tartu street (it starts from Stockmann and is close to Oldtown).

www.seiklusjutte.ee - pub where estonians go (Tartu mnt 44), and in Tartu sousse is a new American pub also very popular, MacBarbique, Tartu sousse 63

Thanks for the help.

I%26#39;ll definitely try some of these places.

Will I have much trouble being a foreigner, because of language, etc?

|||

Not in any of the places mentioned here.

Try Rock Star pub, Tatari 6, if you into rockmusic, bands, biliard and wanna meet local long haired%26amp;undenground people.

Try Kuku art club, Vabaduse väljak 8 in basement floor just next to Moscow kohvik (disgusting trend pub), if you into jazz%26amp;art%26amp;poor intellectual people and cheap food/drinks.

Beerhouse is ok, but its just touristplace - no locals...

Valli Baar, a small pub near Hollywood nightclub

Really inexpensive drinks and the must drink - Millimallikas! Old and poor go there as well, someone plays accordion.

There was a documentary about this pub recently!
