Tallinn in December

Me and my partner are going to Tallinn first weekend in December, will the Christmas market be on then? Is there any chance it could be snowing? and does it get busy with Stag Party%26#39;s even in December?

Hi,

yes there is a Christmasmarket in the oldtown and very plentiful big shoppingcenters.

You have 50% possibility that its snowy. (WE had our first thin snow in Tallinn this year just this night, but its gonna melt with 2-3hours.)

You can find some place and ideas for party. Dec`s first weekend is not very busy for pubs and restaurants.

Stag parties in Tallinn are not the scourge people imagine. I go over there every few weeks and as far as I know, I%26#39;ve never run into one. If I were to find myself in a bar in the Old Town filled with oiks, I would cross the street to another place. No problem.

The Christmas Market starts on November 29th so you%26#39;ll be ok for that. In terms of weather it will be more likely wet rather than snow and there%26#39;s no need to concern yourself with the %26#39;stag element%26#39; because even if they%26#39;re in town, there%26#39;s so many bars to choose from. Enjoy !

We had a great time in Tallinn last December from 1st to 6th. There was a Christmas market but it was quite small and not a lot of variation - plenty of knitted goods but not a lot of crafts. We did not see any stag parties at all. It was snowing when we were there but I dont think there is snow forecast for your visit. It can get very cold but there are lots of places for a coffee or mulled wine to warm you up. The old town has lots of places which are down side roads so keep your eyes open. A favourite place we visited was Kloostri Ait ( Vene tn 14) lovely soups ! They have a website.

There is a lot of snow in Tallinn at the moment. I came back from there on Monday having been delayed a day due to blizzard conditions, grounding all the planes!

Its stacked up in the streets and about 3 foot high!!! Although I believe they are now expecting rain

The christmas markets were starting up at the weekend, the tree in the town square was being decorated and a number of the stalls were open, although the adverse weather conditions were probably keeping a lot of people away.

I have been out there a couple of times and have seen a few groups of guys in the streets, but they are always fine, maybe a bit merry but never seen any trouble.

have a great time its a lovely place

You get loads of ideas and coupons from kupongiraamat.ee/eng, check out the website and print them out before you come!

There%26#39;s live jazz every Friday and Saturday, museums and free events. Botanical Garden is free on that weekend, Sunday, for example.
