Can anyone tell me if Easyjet run daily flights to Tallinn from London in December?
The timetables on the Easyjet site indicate that there are indeed daily flights throughout winter, however just trying to put in sample dates in February and March as if I am making a booking seems to tell me there are no flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays.
Is this correct for December too? I can%26#39;t tell by trying to make a booking, as the flights are only showing until October at the moment and won%26#39;t probably go on sale until May, but I am looking to organise now my time off work in December, preferably flying on Saturday 5th and returning on Tuesday 8th.

Hi
Yes this is correct. Easyjet used to have a more frequent service, however cut back. We had originally booked to go to Tallinn via London Stansted, however Easyjet cancelled the flight and now the timetable is somewhat infrequent and inconvenient flight times.
You may wish to consider KLM( who we are flying with), at least they over a full on-board service, however you would need to connect in Schiphol- no big deal really!
It%26#39;s a shame about EasyJet though!

Thanks for that. I%26#39;ll have a look at KLM. If you study the Easyjet winter timetable it is very confusing and the way I understand it, there seems to be daily flights still showing, but it%26#39;s no good querying it with Easyjet as it is impossible to get an answer from them about anything!

Another possibility is to fly via Helsinki, where Easyjet%26#39;s selling very cheap flights. Bus from airport into town ½hr, ferry to Tallinn 2hr.

Thanks John. Any idea if Easyjet go every day in December? Also how much is it on the ferry and is it usually a rough crossing?

Why not look at the Easyjet site for yourself?
The ferry I usually use in winter is Viking Line as they%26#39;re fast (2 hrs) and stable. Prices vary, check the website for the latest info. The crossing is normally more comfortable than the English Channel and infinitely preferable to the North Sea.

Why not look at my original post ;)

Easyjet timetables just seem to be hopelessly out of date. I had a problem two years ago when in April I booked some Air Berlin flights from Berlin to Malaga for December which were to coincide with an Easyjet flight from Tallinn to Berlin. Guess what, when the Easyjet winter flights were released in May the flight times were completely different from the times shown in the winter timetable and didn%26#39;t coincide so I had to write off the Air Berlin flights.
Have a look for yourself at their winter timetable from Stansted to Tallinn and try and reconcile it with the actual flights that are available right now.
This is why I am asking for information. Re the query for prices for the ferry I was curious as to the usual state of the sea for a winter crossing as we%26#39;re not good sailors and I should have asked for an %26quot;approximate%26quot; price for the crossing, but didn%26#39;t have much time to spare. Will look it up now. Glad to hear it%26#39;s much calmer than I thought.

Sorry, mate, but I get my information on Easyjet from the Easyjet website myself. It%26#39;s typical for budget airlines not to have long-term arrangements in place as taking advantage of opportunities is the name of the game in that business.
I see that the problem is that you need to book your time off work. I suggest you go ahead and book, and leave the flight booking till later - there%26#39;s no way a December flight is going to fill up instantly if they make it available in May, for instance. If this makes you nervous, you might book with Finnair from Heathrow to Helsinki (since you intend to go there anyway). Their prices aren%26#39;t too bad, include service, and don%26#39;t involve a tedious change of planes en route. Finnair%26#39;s trying hard to rustle up business in this recession by offering bargains, though I can%26#39;t say if the London route will be cheap.

Thanks John, some good advice there. Time off work is indeed the thing, as in Spain this year there are two holidays 6th and 8th December and as the one on the 6th falls on a Sunday it%26#39;s carried forward to the Monday so it gives a nice four days long weekend.
However other people in the office have booked time off at the beginning and end of it, so I was hoping to tie a three night Tallinn trip in within those four days, but with no flights now on Saturday (and a limited budget so expensive scheduled flights with other carriers are a bit steep) it%26#39;s making it hard to do that.
As I say, the problem is that even the current timetable at the moment is incorrect for this time of year, so it is hard to plan ahead. I%26#39;ll just sit tight for now and see what happens when they release the winter flights.
By the way, I%26#39;ve seen some excellent and useful comments by you on Trip Advisor (distinctive name!)and maybe other places and I have this feeling that I%26#39;ve read somewhere that you are a fellow Monkey Hanger? If you%26#39;re not you%26#39;ll think I%26#39;m totally nuts lol!!!

My parents lived in Hartlepool for their twilight years, but if I have a home town in the UK, it%26#39;s Margate, although I%26#39;ve lived several places in Finland longer than I ever did there. We probably met on the VirtualTourist site in the days before it was dumbed down.
Be nice to have a pint with you if you manage to make it to this area in December.

Hartlepool has changed a lot for thew better as you probably know and for the last four years we%26#39;ve made it back each Christmas for a week, compared to going back %26quot;home%26quot; only every four or five years before that.
If we get our Tallinn / Helsinki trip sorted it would be great to have a pint. Will let you know, cheers!
