Ferry to Helsinki and other day trips from Tallinn

I%26#39;ve read the posts about day trips from Tallinn, but can anyone tell me what trips are good (and possible) during the new year period? For example, I%26#39;m unsure if I can travel to Helsinki by ferry at this time. Thank you!

Tallink offers the fastest ferries between Tallinn and Helsinki now the express services are closing for winter. Linda Line was operating a few days ago, but it was getting very iffy (they weren%26#39;t able to confirm my sailing till five minutes before the departure time). You can also take the helicopter operated by Copterline.

Thanks for this. Does anyone suggest a trip by public transport that is fun in Winter? Maybe to a nearby town?

It%26#39;s dark except for a few hours around midday) which isn%26#39;t much good for scenery), but you might take a bus to Tartu. If you started at, say, 10 in the morning, you%26#39;d see more than the interior of the bus. You might stay overnight. Tartu%26#39;s worth a look.
