Hi
Although I%26#39;ve visited Tallinn countless times I%26#39;ve never arrived by plane so I can%26#39;t answer question 1.
You wont get very far without using Estonian Kroons, but as Tallinn is a very modern city in some ways changing money is simple. Lots of banks, ATM%26#39;s etc,
The Reval Central is an excellent choice of hotel, my personal favourite. 5 minutes walk from the old town, over the road from a big shopping centre, quiet because it%26#39;s in a courtyard, cheap, spotlessly clean and a good buffet breakfast with plenty of choices. I would recomend booking a superior room though as the standard ones are a bit on the small side, but still perfectly fine.
We%26#39;ve been to Parnu, which is the south of Estonia, and is a beautiful beach resort, with miles of white sandy beaches. There are other places too but I haven%26#39;t visited them yet.
St Petersburg is in Russia and so you will need a visa, also if you are in a hire car you may have problems taking it over the border. Estonia and Russia are not exactly the best of friends.
Maybe someone else could answer that question.
We just got back from Riga in Latvia, and yes it is very much worth a visit, we were there for four nights but will probably stay for longer next time. We%26#39;re going to Vilnius in Lithuania next week so we can%26#39;t amke a comment on that yet. One thing I would say is unless you have a death wish, don%26#39;t drive in Latvia, although you from Portugal.....
I hope the information I have given is of some help, but the best help for you is to buy an In Your Pocket guide at the airport, or the hotel. This is essential reading when visiting the Baltic.
Have a good trip

Hi
Sorry I forgot one thing, there is a restaurant opposite the entrance of the hotel called the Bosphorus, give it a miss, it is just about the worst restaurant I%26#39;ve ever been in, there are lots more in Tallinn which are far better.

Hi
you don%26#39;t really need a car in Tallin itself, unless you are planning to tour Estonia. It is so small you can walk everywhere. A taxi from the airport is cheap.
We also went to Riga which we very much enjoyed (and you also don%26#39;t need a car there).
In Tallin I recommend the Laguna restaurant on Vene, close to the town square. Very good main courses.
I think your other questions have already been answered. Have a good journey!

Hi
Ther are plenty of fast ferries and traditional ferries between Tallinn and Helsinki, there is even a helicopter if you have money to burn.
We always travel accross the Baltic with Tallink, I don%26#39;t know if they are the cheapest but their new boats are great. The Romantika on the Tallinn Helsinki route and the Victoria to Stockholm. If I had to choose between Helsinki and Stockholm then I would choose Stockholm.
With all this information I guess you%26#39;ll need a long holiday to enjoy it all. By the way I think there is a bus between Tallinn and St Petersburg if the car hire doesn%26#39;t work out. Maybe someone else has details of that. We%26#39;re going next year but I haven%26#39;t worked out all the details yet.

I can advice:
The hotel is Olumpia Reval Hotel,
the best from the best it is Gloria Restaurant,
Good place to visit in Estonia it is Lahema national park, Estonian islands and Narva castle. I have been with whole family in Estonia already third time and can say that taxi drivers always cheating so finally prices are even higher than in Berlin.
Car rental company is Transporent rent@transporent.ee , others presented them selfes as the most cheap in airport (second time I took leaflet from Airport – and finally were disappointment) but in real life I have paid at list double and get too small car, when I have returned car from my credit card were drawned other additional amount which were not listed in my reservation. But since one of my friends which has rented a car in Lithuania advised me Transporent car rental agency I were really surprised of service, new good car, cheap prices and the most important that they have not give me nasty surprises comparing to my previous experience
