I%26#39;ve done a little research on the net and it looks like midsummer holiday is a big deal there. Does the whole city really shut down for two days and party? Is this a good time for me to visit somewhere else or would there be stuff to do for a visitor in the city?

Tallinn won%26#39;t be too shut down as it%26#39;s such a touristy time of year. From around 2pm on the 23rd til the morning of the 25th, a lot of museums and restaurants will be closed though. If you check out www.tallinn.ee (English section has a tourist guide) you can find museum and event listings which will have opening times. Outside of the city, make sure you have something booked and food packed etc as shops will most definitely be closed in the countryside and even bigger towns. If you do have an idea of somewhere else to go though, it%26#39;s a fantastic time to be outside.
