With only one day in Tallinn (on a cruise) we plan to visit reccomended sites but would like to know how to get around. We are interested in the Open Air Museum, Toompea Hill and of course the Old Town. Are they all within walking distance or do we take a bus, ect? Thank you!

Toompea Hill is in the old town. And everywhere in the old town is in walking distance (a lot of it is only pedestrian anyway) but I would take a taxi to the open air museum and back since you only have one day to speed things up.

Thank you Djorven. Thats what we will do.

dongale,
The Open Air Museum is good (we spent two whole days there!) but it may take a big chunk out of your day so check your cruise times. There are city bus services to the gate but not that frequently so taxi is the better option. Certainly get a taxi back, the bus service is circular on that part of its route and getting one back can present problems.
As an alternative you may want to consider Kadriorg, which you can easily do by tram from the centre.
Old Town and Toompea are an easy walk from the quays.
Don%26#39;t rely on the tourist bus service, it can be erratic in heavy traffic.
