Tallinn - city tours?

Are there hop on hop off buses in Tallinn? Are you able to join these tours if you are near where the cruise ships are docked? Any advice? Thanks.

Just been to Tallin today - and had a great time. Got the ferry from Helsinki and sadly only had about 7 hours there.

Not sure where the cruise ships dock, but if it%26#39;s by Terminals A, B or D (didn%26#39;t notice a C but it may be there as well), yes the City Tour does stop there. Cost was 250 EEK or 16 Euro for any of the 3 trips ( Red, Blue or Green) and if you have time you can do all 3 trips over 3 days. All have a choice of 10 or so languages and are good value. We also saw Opentop tours which may be different.

Beautiful place, great atmosphere.

OK, I now have the brochure in front of me. Have a look at www.citytour.ee or call +372 53 429 986 for more info.

I meant to say that your ticket is valid for all 3 tours for a 3 day period - great value.

I think the cruise terminal is besdie Terminals A %26amp; B. The Red tour stops there at 09:40 and then every 30 mins until 18:40, the Green tour at 10:35 and then every hour until 18:35 and the Blue tour at 10:05 and then every hour until 18:05.

Standing in front of the terminal, looking towards Tallinn, the bus stop is over to your right.

Yes, you can take the red double-decker city tour hop on-off bus from your cruise port terminal (ABC) as well as from D terminal or city centre before old town gates.

Thanks for posting about the city tours - I%26#39;m thinking of doing a Topdeck tour next year which starts in Tallinn and was wondering what I could do there, now I know!

I saw Responsible Travel selling tram tours in Tallinn. Unfortunately I don%26#39;t know how they are but it might be an interesting alternative to hop-on buses:

I was just there, amazing weather right now! We hopped on the Tallinn City Tour buses, and had a great time. Just like any other European capital, you can basicly browse the city on them. I know there is some other lines, but this one seems to have the best coverage of the city and the service is reliable. We found information here: www.citytour.ee/index.php?id=426%26lang=1

I was in Tallinn couple of weeks ago. Did 2 City Tour lines there, red and blue. It gave me a great intro to Estonian history (the red one, since it wonders around city center and old town, but also shows some hardcore Soviet architecture) and the blue line takes you to Rocca al Mare open air museum. It is definitely worth a visit, if you have a bit more time. It shows how Estonians used to live and gives an overview of their 19th century architecture. Quite interesting.

Tallinn is grand, just go and enjoy it!
