About renting a car...

I ve heard that there are huge street repairing project going on - on way to Riga and this will make travelling time much longer than normal.

I have not been travelling by car to Riga myself so this is just second hand information now.

Hi,

The best is plane, no train, the bus is not an option because of no comfort even if advertise talking that it is a new comfortable bus. Off course if only you are not ready to pay too much, because only Hansabuss offer comfortable busses, but i think that prices level are not reasonable.

If you want to see around and have a possibility to stop when you need, by car is not necessary to be related to bus schedule. I had been in Estonia and take a trip by rental car over the Baltics, and can advise it to others

If you want a good bus experience then use The Eurolines Lux Express I have used it and it is not expensive at all and is very comfortable. The car rental is not the best option because the roads are narrow(one lane in each direction) and there are crazy drivers. The lux bus option you can find from here http://eurolines.ee/node/130 Check the airfares too because airBaltic subsidises all the fares to and from Riga but you have to add transportation and check in time to the trip while the bus stops in the centre of Tallinn too.
