Hi,
you have very many choices.
In the center, close to many clubs, oldtpwn and shopping center, and many restaurants are fo excample:
Metropol,
Viru Sokos
TAllink City
Nordic Hotel Forum (Paris Hilton stayed in this one)
In the old town and also close to everything:
Vana Tom Guest House ( to budget travellers)
Bern hotel
Telegraph
and many others.
All hotels are modern, stylish and clean, even budget hotels. Its not like in London where cheap rooms are like closet (but i looove London anyway)
Welcome

Hi Shawn,
Depends on what your budget is? thats the main factor in my mind?
Would recommend and old town hotel, or one on the right side of the old town wall
Old Town Hotels, I would recommend:
Barons, Telegraph, Merchants House
On the outside of the old town walls (on the city centre side) would not go on the other side as you will start spending so much money on taxi that you will be paying more than an old town hotel
on edge of old town:
Metropol, Viru Sokos, Tallinnk City, Nordic
(please however be informed that these hotels packed with finnish guest most of the pissed)
Hotels Tallinn

If I read your post right, I think Viru would indeed be your best choice, if you are going for one of the nicer (but not too nice) hotels.

Thank you to everybody for your insights. What does everybody think about %26quot;Old Town Maestros%26quot; hotel? It looks like it is in a real good location and it is really inexpensive. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

stayed at old town maestro in feb.great location in centre of old town next to plenty of bars. great rooms, big modern and spotless ,very good deals at £40 to £45 a night on the net.i used hotel.com but pays to look around as deals vary. tallinn is an amazing medieval city but with a 21 century infrastructure.loads of bars and clubs and still resonably cheap(no euro thank god),prob need more than one night!

Been to Tallinn about 12 times. Hotel recommendations are obviously dependent on budget, but a great central place for clubs is the Sokos Viru. Mostly full of Finnish tourists, but the staff all speak great English (as do most people in Tallinn) so don%26#39;t worry.
Best club in my mind is Bon Bon (5 minutes walk from Viru). Friday (best night) especially is like a models%26#39; convention has hit town. You%26#39;ve never seen so many beautiful women in one place. Mostly Estonians, aged 20-30.
Venus is literally across the road from Viru, it%26#39;s more popular with Russians and is a bit more hit and miss. Sometimes great, sometimes quiet.
Mr. Robinsons is located between the two. Almost exclusively Russian, it gets a bad name with Estonians, but I%26#39;ve been there about 5 times and never seen any trouble. Big advantage is that it%26#39;s open until about 6. Go there late after Venus or Bob Bon.
Cafe Amigo is situated underneath Viru. Older crowd, not as trendy as Bon Bon or Venus, and quite a few older hookers.
Hollywood is about 10 minutes away. Packed with younger crowd, early 20s.
Hope that%26#39;s of use. I know Tallinn very well - anything else you want to know, ask me.
