Hi travellers,
In 2009 I’m thinking of heading to Estonia. I was wondering from anyone who’d been there, what did you think of it? What are the best things about the country?, any negatives?, where should I go?, and any recommendations on what to do while I’m there?.
Thanks in advance :)

In my opinion Estonia is just fantastic!
What you should do, depends on your intereste but here are some thing you should do:
1. Visit the Old Town(Vanalinn) in Tallinn.
2. Visit the Occupation Museum.
3. If you%26#39;re going in the winter, visit the opera house in Tallinn
4. Visit the theater and music-museum in Tallinn.
5. Visit some of the good restaurant and cafes in Tallinn, Bogapott is my favourite.
6. If travilling in the summer, take a day trip to Pärnu.
7. Visit Kriistine shopping center, a bit of Old Town and cheaper.
I%26#39;ve been to Estonia four times and don%26#39;t have any negative to say, but watch out for pickpockets on Viru street in Old Town.

Make a point to visit the open air museum. It is an easy short bus ride. It is west of the city and they drop you off right at the gate. It is all old houses, churches, taverns in the woods and very peaceful and interestinng. Rent the audio tour radio. You can walk down by the sea there, nothing but woods and the way it was 100 years ago.
You can do it in 1/2 a day easy.

Don%26#39;t just stay in Tallinn visit Tartu and if possible the Estonian islands as well. Parnu is also nice in Summer.

It sounds to me like you need to do some basic homework. Find out what interests you, then come back and ask more detailed questions than %26#39;where should I go?%26#39;

I agree with one of the above posters. Do not spend all your time in Tallinn. I don%26#39;t think it really represents what Estonia is.
Travel to the islands; Saaremaa is a great place. Even an overnight in Kihnu is fantastic to see an older, unaffected Estonia. The women still wear the folk skirts every day.
Parnu is interseting but also get into the countryside.
