Stag Do!!!

Hi All

Can someone please comment on Tallinn as a short trip for Stag do.

What are the prices of drinks like, specially if you don%26#39;t drink beer and prefer sprits (vodka) for example?

Is there a specific area in Tallinn or outside that would be ideal for a stag do.

We are looking for a place where the drinks (especially, sprits) are not to expensive, its has its share of lap dancing/strip clubs/bars but also places to just go baring/clubing.

One of the problems we had when we went to Prague was that the place was full of guys going to lap dancing clubs. There were no women apart from lap dancers and no normal clubs to just dance and meet non working women.

Any suggesting on how Tallin is?

Thanks

Dr J

Tallinn is a small city and although it’s got its share of bars and evening entertainment I can’t help thinking that it’s not the type I would associate with a stag-weekend - more a weekend break with your wife or girlfriend.

I would have suggested Prague or Amsterdam, but if your more interested in chatting to women than going to strip bars then how about Berlin?

Well,

Tallinn was chosen party city of the year 2 years ago (if I remember rightly). My opinion is that nightlife is ok and also lots of ti ts bars are available.

Comparing to Riga I must say that especially during winter Tallinn is far more lively place and girls are more beautifull!

Just got back Booze is expensive.... 35 -55 eek a larger... 35 shot of vodka.. notice in the hell hunt (super bar used mainly bu locals)a sign saying stag parties not welcomed...

I%26#39;ve been on small scale lads do%26#39;s for last 2 years

Certainly more problematic with large groups now

Not in any way %26quot;cheap%26quot; compared to a Weatherspoons!

Some great bars all over the Old Town - good clubs - the strip places can be very expensive but are safe (compared to Riga)and the girls all over town are stunning - once sat in the square and we just counted the number of %26quot;yes%26quot; girls and it was a lot

Also other activities like bike rides/quad bikes etc nearby and the best ever stag activity shooting an AK47!!

Well first lets talk about alcohol.Till june or july alcohol price will be cheap. If buyng from shop:

Bottle of beer:10-30 EEK

Bottle of vodka:40-200 EEK

Price depend on bottle size and drink quality. In bars prices are 30-40 EEK for beer and same for a shot of vodka.

BUT!From june or july there will be rise of prices on alcohol and tobacco to straighten our prices with the rest of europe.

The best nigh clubs in tallinn are R.I.F.F.,Venus,Parlament,Hollywood.

Planning on the same kind of small scalled trip in Feb...iv heared its meant to be pretty cold by then!

I also have been to prague agree about it being full of %26#39;working girls%26#39; and nothing else, much prefered Bratislava.

Are we likely to be able to mingle with the locals if when there. Would the girls even look twice at british guys? If not thats fine but would be good to know what to expect!

February is the coldest month.. Will be -10 at least. up to -20 though. There are plenty of places to meet very attractive %26quot;non-working%26quot; estonian girls. They won%26#39;t look twice at foreigners though, especially in non-tourist places filled with locals. I don%26#39;t know if I would call Tallinn a party place for a stag group. Most people detest stag groups in Tallinn (locals and other tourists and local bars). Riga is more for that sort of thing I would think. Much cheaper than Tallinn too. Tallinn is also quite small and you won%26#39;t find a huge array of pubs and strip places, its not that sort of place really. Again, Amsterdam or Prague might be a better size for that. I%26#39;m biased I admit because my GF is Estonian and I%26#39;m Irish. we go there 2 or 3 times a year to visit family. Thankfully Stag groups have been very very rare due to the lack of cheap budget flights etc into Tallinn airport. Nothing worse than seeing 10 totally hammered lairy guys shouting and vomiting in the streets and intimating others. Fair enough, thats not all Stag groups, but its the majority. We had the same problem in Dublin for years, UK stag groups would come over and take over the Temple Bar area of Dublin. They are now banned from this whole area. Too many fights, and too much destruction... I have to agree with the other poster, think of Tallinn as a romantic getaway with quaint local bars and restaurants. If your after niteclubbing and red light zones, its not for you.

Not the reply I was hoping for but, anyhow its booked now so we will have to make the most of it!..Any contrasting views would be very welcome though lol

I was in Tallinn in September and never saw any stag groups at all. There was one bar (can%26#39;t remember the name) that had a strip club/pole dancing area downstairs, but you wouldn%26#39;t know that unless you went in the bar.

I will refer you to this post about the bars i visited.

The Nimeta bar may be suitable for you, busy place and there was a mix of visitors and locals, and the Numega bar though very quiet when I was there did seem to have a pole dancing area, though we were the only folk in the bar on a late saturday afternoon.

The Beer House is a huge place ,but don%26#39;t know how they feel about stag groups, there were several large groups of latvians in when I was there, but that was fans the Estonia V Latvia Basketball game.

I am getting on a bit and still like to chase the ladies ,but they all run too fast for me these days.
