Airport Transfer

I%26#39;m wondering what is the best option for transfers between the airport and the hotel we will stay at on our trip next month,

I have done a search and found that everyones opinion is that the bus is the best and cheapest option, however it looks like there will be a bit of a walk with our suitcases. nothing major only about 0.6KM. the threads on %26#39;aiport transfers are dates around 2 years old, and i%26#39;m wondering if there are any changes etc?

i%26#39;m not really too bothered about the walk, but i notice there is a train line that runs round the back of near where we stay, is there a rail transfer from the airport?

anyone who can help?

No there is not a train link to the city. If your hotel is in the medieval part of the city, then even a short distance could be a problem, if you have large suitcases or trolleys due to the cobblestoned streets. So if you have a lot of luggage either take a taxi, which should be metered or arrange your transfer with your hotel. Even the most expensive ones doesn%26#39;t charge that much. Our hotel charged the private transfer around 12-13euros.

Depends on where are you staying, how much luggage you are going to have and how price consious you are.

Busses (No 2) depart right outside the exit of the airport the price is (if you by the ticket from the bus) 20 EEK (if I am correct) that would be ca 20 USD, taxis depart also right outside the exit. The fare to the city center/old town should be around 100 EEK i.e USD 10.

The bus stops at the bus terminal, which is adjacent to the Viru Center, and a 10 min walk from your hotel. If you pack light and don%26#39;t have many bags to drag, then this should not be a big problem, as it%26#39;s a nice walk through the old part of the city. Otherwise, if you have many baggages , especially trolleys, dragging them through cobblestoned streets is not the handiest thing.

ok. good stuff. I%26#39;m travelling fairly light. This will be my 3rd stop, travelling around the Baltics and Scandanavia. Thanks for everyones input

Correcting myself - bus ticket - 20 EEK is ca 2 USD.

I%26#39;d reccomend taking a taxi from the airport if you have a bit of luggage - Depending on how many people you%26#39;re travelling with, it may end up being only 50% more than the bus. There is a train line, but inconvenient (about 300 metres down the highway from the airport) and it%26#39;s also only 5 or 6 times a day. The stop is Ulemiste and it%26#39;s one short of the terminus, Baltijaam, about 500 metres from your hotel. Only if you are really into trains so. You can check the schedules on www.edel.ee.
